Rwanda, Kibirizi
About the Bean
A feel-good, tastes-good kind of coffee! Since 2021, the Kibirizi washing station has been a hub for agricultural training and specialty coffee production in Rwanda’s Southern province. Roughly 1,130 farmers from the surrounding Nyamagabe area bring their handpicked cherries to the station, where they are collectively floated (sorted), pulped, and washed for export. During the last stage of production, the coffee is frequently raked to ensure even drying, developing honey notes and a beautiful tea-like body in the process. All in all, a wonderful representation of what the coffee industry in Rwanda has to offer.
